Google Panda Update
November 29th, 2011
Here’s a big news for SEO Experts! Google tweeted that it has rolled out a “minor update” of the Panda Algorithm on Friday afternoon – November 18 2011! On September 28, 2011, Google rolled out Panda Update 2.5, and since then there have been a series of releases of Google’s Panda Algorithm. This is called “Panda Flux”. It was on October 5th, that Matt tweeted… “weather report: expect some Panda-related flux in the next few weeks, but will have less impact than previous updates (~2%).” we can expect more “weather reports” for both major and minor updates of Google Panda Algorithm in the days to come.
Vanessa Fox, who previously created Google Webmaster Tool, and currently one of the Contributing Editors at Search Engine Land said that she had had a talk with Google guys to dig out more info regarding the Panda Fluxes, but in vein! Google confirmed that it was making conscious effort on fluxes but refused to reveal more details in that regard. The most important points to be noted for Google Panda updates – Fluxes are:
- Few Panda updates are rolled out with the subtle strokes of updates incorporated to the overall Panda algo.
- Some of the Panda updates are released to re-calculate how many new sites performed within the the latest algorithms, keeping the last recoded data as the base.
For one of our clients’ website, that had been previously optimized by other SEO service company, I have noticed a sudden and multiple declines in traffic from Google organic searches after September 27, 2011! I made an in depth site-wide auditing and found the following flaws:
- Some of the pages that used attract highest volume of traffic before Panda hit the search land had huge volume of content, but were of thin quality.
- Good number of pages had content on same topics and the information did not differ much
- A few pages had speakable amount of duplicated text
- Page structures were not up-to-the-mark insofar the user experience is concerned
- Internal navigation weren’t that good
- Some of the pages had too many advertisements
- Right panel had many outbound links and some of them were redirecting to irrelevant destination – this was a side-wide issue. I think some of them were paid links, although I am not sure about it.
- Too big images in some of the pages made the page load slower. I am not sure if this can be a reason for Google’s honorable Panda to frown on, but it was surely a flaw thinking from other tech perspective.
This way Google is going smarter day by day! According to Larry, Google should have the ability to understand the world better. It should understand how things external to Google are inter-related. “Search”, according to Larry, “was just too narrow a topic.”
We, being an SEO service company, steer clear of content duplication and make sure each page has unique content, that are informative.

Thanks for the information. Highly appreciated. We almost always need to trawl through plenty of junk to locate a little bit of decent info! Anybody know an excellent webpage get hold of the best antivirus inside the Us?
The policy headed by Google is the thing that once had to be done. In other case the web would be so overwhelmed, that it would be impossible to find something relevant. Yes, the market is stroken by Panda influence, but this change is not forever. At least until the moment when web site owners will understand that content should be relevant.
